Job Description

We are seeking a Project Engineer for a historic preservation project at the AOC Longworth Building. This project involves a two-year switchgear upgrade. The Project Engineer will be responsible for updating contract drawings, organizing submittal requirements, and supporting the Project Superintendent in monitoring quality of work and compliance with construction documents.

ResponsibilitiesUpdate contract drawings to reflect all approved changes and ensure trade contractor documents are updated.Organize and prioritize submittal requirements specified in contract documents and review for completeness.Create a submittal log to ensure timely submittals, review shop drawings, and manage the architect submittal review process.Support the Project Superintendent by monitoring quality of work and compliance with construction documents.Assist the Project Superintendent with daily reports and the management of all progress and quality photos.Post all required safety information and signage to inform workers and site visitors about site hazards and ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times.Model safety awareness and planning at all times, report any safety concerns to the Project Superintendent or Project Manager.Support the logistics process for all safety initiatives listed in the site-specific safety plan.Serve as a peer coach as required.Complete assigned and required training for this role.Follow instructions, respond to management direction, take responsibility for own actions, and keep commitments.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of one (1) year of construction industry experience.Previous internships in construction management or a related field are applicable.Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in construction or mechanical engineering.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to interact with and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of people, including internal and external customers.Work Environment

The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer where the project is monitored. Daily decisions are made about construction activities. The job requires the wearing of protective equipment (hardhats, safety glasses, and highly visible clothing) when on the construction site

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
