Project Engineer (Closeout)
Job Description An employer is looking for a Project Engineer to join one of their Utility customers in the Southern California area. You will be supporting the Project Engineering Closeout team, which a focus on tasks encompassing as-built drawings. The main goal is focused on executing as-building tasks mainly for capital projects within the Project Engineering Department. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: Construction Redlines drawing reviews for completeness. Markup of drawings (e.g., Process & Instrumentation Drawings, Piping/Mechanical/Civil/Electrical plans, and Isometrics) using Revu Bluebeam software to ensure alignment with Company drafting standards and requirements. Facilitation and coordination of obtaining and addressing engineering discipline and review team comments, questions, and concerns. You will also be tasked to help with procedure development to help standardize and streamline the as-building process (e.g., creating process instructions, checklists, and forms). Detailed Summary for As-Building Tasks: - Requesting, collecting, and processing documentation and/or records required to produce accurate As-Builts (i.e., Completion Drawing Sets). - Reviewing field provided Construction Redlines for accuracy and completeness to help mitigate issues and/or address discrepancies. - Digitize, process, and upload to PE SharePoint, any physical project material related to as-building, if applicable. - Consolidate all changes, notes, and markups from Design and Construction phases into one central markup set to be used to produce a final Completion Drawing Set. - Complete markups using Bluebeam in alignment with Company drafting standards and as-building requirements to mitigate rejections from Company internal quality control and assurance checks. - Coordinate and facilitate Engineering Redlines markup process with execution PEs, applicable engineering disciplines, project management organization contacts and GIS personnel. - Address any stakeholders comments, questions, and/or concerns throughout as-building process. This may include coordinating field visits where requested/needed, addressing safety/compliance issues from unapproved field changes, scheduling meetings to settle inquiries, and resolving review rejections - Organize PE project files and finalize any pending/incomplete document control processing. This would include archiving the project file folder where applicable.
