Project Engineer - Electrical/Power
Project Engineer - Electrical/Power H.F. Lenz Company is currently seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our engineering team. As an Electrical Project Engineer in Mission Critical team, you will help to lead projects focused on electrical system design for data centers and corporate office buildings. Responsibilities include developing innovative solutions, construction administration, client relations and leading the discipline team. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid or full remote work environment, preferably in the following regions: PA, MD, VA, WV, OH, NY, CT Qualifications include 7+ years of experience designing power distribution and lighting building systems and demonstrated project management experience. Effective skills include strong spoken and written communications, excellent organization and time management, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Day to Day Responsibilities: + Lead projects and design of electrical systems, including low-medium voltage power, lighting, distribution systems, telecom, fire alarm and security systems. + Perform load calculations, site visits, surveys/studies, reports and commissioning in support of electrical design for mission critical, corporate and government facilities. + Lead personnel and collaborate with team members in cross-functional setting to ensure that the design is accurate and that contract responsibilities are met according to client's expectations. + Review and interpret NEC codes, client specifications, as well as help improve and maintain current quality assurance processes. + Coordinate with equipment vendors for selection and specification of appropriate equipment. + Directly interface with clients and prospective clients for engineering solutions and design consultations. Qualifications: + Experience with AutoCAD and Revit applications is required. + Ability to lead electrical building systems design from utilities to construction administration. + Ability to conduct on-site electrical studies and field surveys. + Demonstrated experience with data-center infrastructure design is a plus. + Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. + Ability to meet project deadlines and provide outstanding service to clients. + Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects. + Ability to work in and foster a team environment with minimal supervision. Requirements: + B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering; Architectural and/or Building System Design from an ABET accredited university. + Minimum of 7 years of experience working with Electrical Building Systems Design, including power distribution, telecom, lighting systems, fire protection and security systems. + Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. + Travel to project sites is required.
