Southern California TRS Staffing Solutions are seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Gas Systems/Pipeline) on a direct hire basis to join our client's EPC team. We are seeking engineers who reside within the Greater Bay area and can commute to the Walnut Creek/San Ramon area in order to provide on-call support and communication with clients in the region. Work will be primarily in Northern California, with approximately 10% travelling to client project sites and to the corporate office in Southern California. Job Duties Orchestrate the execution of engineering and design projects for gas utility facilities, resulting in the successful completion of projects and the development of working relationships and continuing business with clients. Typical projects include modifications and upgrades to compressor stations, storage facilities, meter stations and pressure letdown stations. Lead multidiscipline engineering and design teams in the development of project scope, budgets and schedules; preparation of proposals; preparation of feasibility studies and preliminary design reports; and the directing and management of multiple projects. Conduct effective planning, efficient execution, and successful completion of projects, delivering the project on time and within the prescribed budget. Assist in staffing decisions regarding members of the project team, assigning the work, and assuring its successful and timely completion. Manage sub-consultants to ensure adequate coordination between offices, and to manage their work product. Act as a capable leader and a positive representative in dealing with the client and in directing and expediting the work. Ensure expected results, specifically: excellence in quality of work performed, client communication and satisfaction, efficient staff utilization, client satisfaction for ongoing client referrals, as well as excellence of office reputation, contract management, billing collection and project profitability. The Project Engineer is also responsible for assisting in the development of personnel through effective work assignments on the projects, and through appropriate coaching and mentoring.
Job Requirement: 5+ years of gas systems, pipeline, or relevant engineering experience is required. Engineering services firm experience is desirable, and gas utility project experience in California is strongly preferred. B.S. Degree in engineering or related field is required. Candidate must be familiar with relevant codes and standards, such as 49 CFR Parts 192 and/or 195, ASME B31.3/B31.4, B31.8, and/or B31.12. Professional Engineering license is preferred. Project Management certification is a plus. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software/tools. Construction and field experience is preferred. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
