Tutor Perini is the general contractor for the HART City Center Guideway and Stations project.  The scope of the approximately $1.66 billion contract includes the design and construction of six rail stations and approximately three miles of elevated rail guideway beginning just east of the Middle Street Transit Center Station and ending at the Civic Center Station, which will be located just east of the intersection of Halekauwila Street and South Street in downtown Honolulu. Project design is expected to begin immediately while construction is estimated to commence in the second half of 2025. Construction of this segment is expected to be substantially completed in 2030.

DESCRIPTION:

As a Project Engineer at Tutor Perini Corp., reporting to Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

Review project plans and develops a construction schedule in coordination with project-wide activities. Coordinate with subcontractors on advance material acquisitions and pre-construction deliverables Develop and assist with obtaining quotes and draft contracts to meet project requirements. Prepare construction work plan packages and coordinates pre-construction meetings while ensuring that all prerequisites to start construction activities are identified and completed. Prepare, update, and distribute work activity schedules/updates, and communicates across discipline groups and agencies to ensure proper advance notifications and coordination of start times. Monitor and participates daily in field construction process. Provides layout checks and technical reviews of work against requirements. Obtains confirmations from design engineer as needed Assist with subcontract administration and permanent material suppliers through monitoring of correspondence, submittals, RFI's, and performance records; Maintains accurate payment records. Assist in preparing monthly reporting for progress payments, schedule updates, and problem/issue tracking and resolution. Provides accurate and factual assessments of project performance. Participate in change orders and claims management Identify and resolves changing site conditions or other impacts during planning of the work Develop quality checks and coordinate permits from appropriate entities Manage and submit project close-out in coordination with the client and third parties

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or similar, from an accredited institution  5 or more years of civil construction experience Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA Requirements. Project controls techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating, forecasting, and contracts) A strong working knowledge of the critical path method and resource scheduling. Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and Primavera P6. Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies. Strong work ethic - Highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Expected Salary range is $100,000-150,000 depending upon experience
