We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at a leading refinery in Ponca City, Oklahoma. This is a full-time contract position with a duration of 2 years, likely to extend.

Role Overview

Provide project management expertise and serve as the single point of accountability for assigned projects. Manage project costs, schedule, resources, technical competency, environmental requirements, and safety. Coordinate project activities with Process and Instrument/Electrical Engineers to ensure timely completion. Utilize Front-End Loading, Detail Design, and other best practices in project execution. Collaborate with customers to develop project charters, secure funding, engineer projects, and support construction. Conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations. Manage vendor scopes of work and package delivery through commissioning. Coordinate project status updates and technical design reviews with key stakeholders and internal engineering resources. Collaborate with peers and work groups across departments.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Valid driver's license is required. Experience with Front-End Loading (FEL 1-3) requirements. Knowledge of P&IDs, equipment design, HAZOP reviews, electrical/instrument designs, and engineering support for cost estimates and schedules. Strong scheduling and organization skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent oral/written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Understanding of ASME, API, and ASTM codes and standards (ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5, API 510, API 579). Ability to perform and interpret pipe stress analysis and pressure vessel calculations. Familiarity with all Required Standards, REPS, and site clarifications. Basic understanding of refinery operations.

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering field (Mechanical or Civil). 1+ years of experience in the refining or petrochemical industry.
