Job Summary:

The Project Engineer II is a broad role that requires working on a variety of automotive powertrain systems including engines, drivelines, fuel and exhaust systems. The Project Engineer II works in a team environment to understand each product unique needs and will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members. This position is located in Livonia, MI.

As a Project Engineer II, you will:Translate product needs to design requirements and to feasible design concepts and apply relevant engineering analysis to design components and subsystemsManage CAD resources to develop 3D models and 2D printsDevelop & execute Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Validation Plan & Report (DVP&R) documentsConduct hardware development tasks and testing, while supporting prototype, pre-production, and/or production buildsManage build-to-print and full-service suppliersUtilize Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) team or resources to analytically validate designsDocument & report status internally and externally to customersMinimum qualifications to be considered:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 2 years of experience in automotive or related industry.Functional proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, e.g. SolidWorks, Siemens NX Unigraphics (UG), Catia, etc.Strong computer skills e.g. Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical data to various audiencesHands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide robust solutions to complex problems.A successful candidate may also have:Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive design developmentExperience with alternative fuel powertrain design developmentWorking knowledge of automotive powertrain and related systemsOur full-time benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, earned sick time, STD, LTD, 401K, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, paid holidays, and more.
