The role of the Project Engineer II to utilize your engineering skills and project management ability to execute design changes, derivative tool releases and general maintenance of existing products.

As a Project Engineer at Milwaukee Tool Accessories, you will work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment, collaborating daily with your peers across Project Management, Engineering, Quality, Product Management, Operations, and Supply Chain. In order to move fast and stay connected with your on-site peers, this position is on-premises. It is not a remote position.
Under the guidance of department leaders:
+ Lead low complexity and low item (SKU) count projects, including variant of existing product, supplier diversification, minimal New Product Development (NPD).
+ Provides support on mid complexity and mid item (SKU) count projects.
+ Lead projects that use existing/off the shelf manufacturing technologies.
+ Work cross-functionally and globally with Quality & Reliability Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Service & Support, Marketing, and numerous other departments.
+ Evaluate product designs relative to the selection, cost and resolution of problems associated with materials, heat treatment and finishes. Work cross functionally with advanced engineering teams.
+ Regularly visit the manufacturing cells/suppliers to maintain open lines of communication with the cell/suppliers and provide troubleshooting analysis as required.
+ Track warranty activity and initiate corrective action.
+ Request and perform tests per established procedures.
+ Interpret data and make corresponding design changes including but not limited to:
+ Utilization of computer aided simulation tools
+ Stress analysis
+ Selection of materials and heat treatments
+ Tolerance stacks and deviation analysis
+ Statics and dynamics
+ Noise and vibration analysis
+ Interact with suppliers to develop part and product specifications that meet performance requirements while falling within process capabilities.
+ Perform various other duties to support the larger business needs as assigned and directed by management.
**What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:**
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
+ Typically, 2-3 years of experience in an equivalent role.
+ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Microsoft Project.
+ Ability to manage several simultaneous projects is required.
+ Able to provide a basic overview of upcoming workload and identify potential resource bottlenecks.
+ Basic understanding of various cost drivers associated with materials, labor & overhead is required.
+ Working knowledge of CAD is required. NX experience is preferred.
+ Mechanical aptitude is required including a functional knowledge of design, engineering materials, mechanical properties and an understanding of the manufacturing processes associated with these materials.
+ Must be a highly motivated self-starter with never satisfied, always improving attitude. Must be agile with the ability to work in an ever-changing and flexible environment.
+ Ability to travel up to 10% both domestically and internationally.
