Overview TRC is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of commercial, multifamily, and residential energy efficiency and green building programs. As a Project Engineer II, you will work with TRC’s quality assurance and quality control team and possess hands-on technical abilities including knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency principles and calculations, and green building techniques. Project Engineers work collaboratively with internal teams and customers to deliver market-transforming programs that promote energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction. Your knowledge and understanding of energy efficiency principles, ability to provide supportive leadership, and desire to complete tasks on time and within budget will help you take the next steps in your career. Responsibilities Develop and review calculations and assumptions used to estimate or measure savings due to energy efficiency projects. Use energy modeling applications and spreadsheets to evaluate energy savings. Develop technical reports that summarize project scope, calculation methodologies, key assumptions, and recommendations. Conduct site visits to verify installation and operation of technologies. Perform and review facility energy audits, feasibility studies and other engineering reports. Work with contractors and customers to incorporate program requirements into their projects. Provide technical assistance to customers including support with energy savings calculations. Assist in the development of technical standards, protocols and requirements for innovative energy efficiency and green building programs. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control and assurance procedures. Research, understand, and apply the principles of national standards such as emerging standards such as ASHRAE, Energy Star, LEED, PHIUS, etc. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Eligibility to work in the United States. Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or Economics. 5+ years of experience within the industries of energy efficiency, green building, construction, environmental or resource management. Knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency technologies, green building, sustainability and/or high-performance design. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience with technical writing Team-oriented, hands-on, adaptive, and client-focused. Excellent time management and organizational skills Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, for analysis and reporting Competitive applicants will demonstrate Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities effectively, and navigate fast-paced environments with competing deadlines. Experience with modeling techniques related to energy or environmental planning. Desire to be a quick and eager learner of new material and think holistically through complex problems, with technical and non-technical components. Problem-solving ability with a proactive and collaborative style that works well in teams. Exceptional organizational, time-management, and planning skills. Awareness of social, economic, and environmental contexts of statewide energy policies. Use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technologies and databases. Travel: Up to 25% within the State of New Jersey. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
