Project Engineer- MEPOverview:
FPM Group provides multi-discipline engineering, architecture, and environmental services to a wide variety of clients. Established in the 1960s, FPM has a strong history of exceptional past performance in building renovations, building systems (MEP), public works projects, infrastructure development, and environmental compliance, investigation, and remediation. FPM has an exciting opportunity in our Bohemia headquarters for a Mechanical Project Engineer position.
The Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for the design of HVAC, mechanical, heating, plumbing, and fire protection systems for new construction, renovations, additions, and system upgrades/retrofits, construction administration and project management responsibilities for clients in state, local, and federal government and private industry.
Primary Responsibilities: Engineering design of HVAC systems, air handling units, Mechanical systems, Heating systems, boilers, including sustainable design in all phases of a project. Perform field inspections for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, fire alarm and sprinkler systems; may include low-voltage electrical systems (CCTV, Security Access). Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications. Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes and standards. Collaborate with project managers and clients to define project scope, objectives, and requirements. Create project plans and timelines including development of project costs and focus on quality. Address any technical issues and challenges that may arise during project execution and provide timely solutions. Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on project status, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction with the project. Construction administration services, such as: submittal and shop drawing reviews, review and respond to RFI, the schedule and coordination. Supervisory Responsibilities:
