We have an exciting opportunity located in Poway, CA for a mid-level Project Engineer working on the MQ-9B SeaGuardian UAS Team to develop, test, and field the system for customer operations. The position will support development and fielding of a new UAS variant to an international customer who plans to use the system to perform maritime surveillance missions.
This role will be supporting both the technical and programmatic management of the program and will be expected to lead engineering, manufacturing, and flight operations teams working on the program. The Project Engineer will report to the SeaGuardian engineering manager and be a part of the SeaGuardian Program Engineering team. The candidate will represent the company as a technical subject matter expert on projects, will interact with key suppliers, lead coordination between internal organizations, and lead execution of program activities
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Travel is required to support customer/vendor meetings and integration/testing at our airport facilities in the high desert and other locations.Supports operation of engineering systems and documents any problems.Devises new approaches to resolve unusual or complex engineering problems.Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements.Provides documentation and makes technical presentations as required.May represent the organization as the prime technical contact on small contracts or single component projects.Provides direction to design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Performs other duties as assigned.Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
