Job Description:
Overview
This position is involved in the practical application of engineering design and oversight of water/wastewater utility projects for public, private, and municipal utility district clients.
Responsibilities
Provide design calculations, technical reports, permitting and engineering plans as well as specifications for the design of water and wastewater facilities, including distribution and collection systems, lift stations, storage tanks, pump stations, and treatment facilities
Prepare proposals, scopes of work and contract cost estimates as neede
Providing leadership in these daily activities, among others, will continue the Pape-Dawson vision of becoming the most respected engineering firm in Texas.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited collegeĀ or university
5 years' of experience in a similar role within water and wastewater projects from conception to completion
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to sit for P.E. in Texas within six (6) months of employment
Proficient with AutoCAD and MS Office
Proficient with ARC-MAP and Civil 3D
Microstation and Geopak experience a plus
Water and wastewater systems modeling a plus
Knowledge of design and construction practices for waterlines, storage tanks, pump stations, wastewater lines, lift stations and forcemains
Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment facility design and construction
Knowledge of TCEQ requirements for potable water and wastewater systems
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of employees within an organization
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, both public and private, as well as representatives of local, state and federal regulatory agencies
Demonstrated ability to work in a team as well as independently
Must be dependable and reliable
Must be able to work Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with occasional overtime as needed
