Job Description:

Overview

This position is involved in the practical application of engineering design and oversight of water/wastewater utility projects for public, private and municipal utility district clients.

Responsibilities:

What can you expect on a daily basis?

Provide design calculations, technical reports, permitting and engineering plans as well as specifications for the design of water and wastewater facilities, including distribution and collection systems, lift stations, storage tanks, pump stations, and treatment facilitiesPrepare proposals, scopes of work and contract cost estimates as neededProviding leadership in these daily activities, among others, will continue the Pape-Dawson vision of becoming the most respected engineering firm in Texas.

Qualifications:

What qualifications are needed and key to this role?

Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university5 years' of experience in a similar role within water and wastewater projects from conception to completionProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to sit for P.E. in Texas within six (6) months of employmentProficient with AutoCAD and MS OfficeProficient with ARC-MAP and Civil 3DMicrostation and Geopak experience a plusWater and wastewater systems modeling a plusKnowledge of design and construction practices for waterlines, storage tanks, pump stations, wastewater lines, lift stations and forcemainsKnowledge of water and wastewater treatment facility design and constructionKnowledge of TCEQ requirements for potable water and wastewater systemsEffective communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of employees within an organization

Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, both public and private, as well as representatives of local, state and federal regulatory agencies

Demonstrated ability to work in a team as well as independently

Must be dependable and reliableMust be able to work Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with occasional overtime as needed
