Are you ready to lead a team of experienced professionals in an exciting engineering role? Our company is looking for a driven Project Engineer to oversee our Seating projects, ensuring they meet rigorous standards of quality and innovation. This position offers the opportunity to manage both technical manufacturing and administrative aspects, driving projects from inception to completion while maintaining strong customer relationships. 

 

What You Will Do: 

· Project Oversight: Monitor project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and within-budget completion of projects.  Identifies, develops, and gathers necessary resources to ensure project completion. 

· Resource Management: Manages all aspects of an engineering project and programs. Allocate resources effectively, drive strategic planning, and assign tasks to meet business targets. 

· Team Leadership: Direct a team of professionals and team leaders in technical manufacturing and administrative areas. 

· Communication: Conduct project meetings and prepare comprehensive reports to communicate project status to stakeholders. 

· Problem Solving: Identify and resolve complex project issues, recommending solutions and adjusting resources as necessary. 

· Customer Interface: Act as the primary contact with key customers, fostering strong professional relationships and understanding their needs within project scope. 

· Program Management: Oversee all phases of programs from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to program guidelines and objectives. 

· Proposal and Budget Management: Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, and financial terms/conditions of contracts. 

·  Performance Management: Monitor project progress and assess issues to ensure productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals are met. 

• Schedule Management: Meets program schedules and budgets and maintains a portion of the integrated master schedules for project(s).

This includes understanding customer needs, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. 

Problem Solving and Decision Making: You'll enhance your ability to identify and address complex project problems, recommend solutions, and make decisions that impact project outcomes. This involves critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. 

Strategic Planning and Business Acumen: You'll gain exposure to strategic planning processes within a corporate environment, including coordinating proposals, preparing business plans, and managing financial aspects of projects. This provides insight into how projects contribute to overall business objectives. 

Communication Skills: You'll improve your communication skills by conducting project meetings, preparing reports, and effectively communicating project status and updates to internal teams and external stakeholders. 

Compliance and Quality Assurance: You'll learn about regulatory compliance and quality assurance standards specific to aerospace industries, ensuring that projects meet stringent safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. 

Overall, this role offers a comprehensive learning experience in project management, technical expertise, leadership, customer relations, and strategic planning within the context of aerospace engineering. Qualifications You Must Have: 

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience 

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position 

  

Qualifications We Prefer: 

 Direct experience with development, designing, and certification of Aerospace Interiors Systems. Advanced degree in a related field or Mechanical Engineering degree. Experience in maintaining integrated master schedules for projects.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
