We are looking to hire an Electrical Project Engineering Manager located in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex to add to our growing team! Position requires both electrical and project management experience, preferably with conveyor systems within material handling - power supply wiring, conduit, PLC, cabling, building control panels and testing.
Experience and Position Duties
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment installation specifications. Wire and diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as motors, scanners, readers, and replace damaged or broken wires and cable. Ability to build and terminate power cabinet with meticulous attention to detail. Test malfunctioning machinery and determines malfunction. Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices. Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in the facility. Ensure all panels, wiring, and assembly practices conform to the electrical schematics and drawings. Strong understanding of the National Electrical Codes (NEC) Responsible for quality assurance aspects relative to the job/task performed. Adheres to and follow all safety procedures, i.e., lock-out/tag-out; report safety concerns, ARC Flash understanding and awareness, use appropriate PPE as required, and follow all safety practices. Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities for complex programs and projects through the development of project plans intended to accomplish goals and objectives within prescribed timeframes and budgets. Ensures consistent visibility for program and project teams by monitoring and reporting business objectives, program/project achievements, and key indicators. Proactively communicates with project stakeholders and executive/senior management and provides insight on issues through root cause analyses. Collaborates on creative alternatives to project challenges; partners to drive adoption and challenge standards. Leads subject matter experts to resolve project challenges and removes obstacles and impediments to ensure business and operational objectives are met. Identifies and applies best practices and needed process improvements. Establishes efficiencies in program and project design where possible. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. Monitors project execution to deliver incremental business value. Inspires others to adopt the new processes and improvements based on program retrospectives. Manage multiple jobs and work orders simultaneously based on the company production master schedule. Manage the electrical employees’ workflow and tasks. Coordinate with Electrical Engineering to ensure products are built to the latest designs. Write Corrective Action (CAF System) to identify design / materials issues for correction. Coordinate activities with Mechanical manufacturing manager and production control. Coordinate activities with staging coordinator and carefully organize materials for multiple projects. Able to review and manage Work with labor due report in order to timely close out work orders.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher in Business, Engineering, or alternatively, Electrical trade certifications and/or licenses 5+ years of experience in managing electrical projects in leadership role overseeing teams, project management, scheduling in a manufacturing environment. Able to read and understand ANSI type industrial wiring diagrams and schematics. Strong organizational & communication skills. Ability and willingness to work with a diverse group of employees. Ability to learn and work with the companies MRP system (SysPro) Advanced skillset using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, MS Project) and experience using other standard office programs and applications; with ability to quickly learn and navigate programs and apps used without having previous experience with. 5+ years in leadership role managing teams, project management, scheduling. Flexible to work weekends and/or additional hours as required to meet project deadlines. Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Good time management skills. Strong team skills. Clear and concise verbal and written communications. Ability to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions independently. PMP Certification or course work (preferred)
