THE WORK
The AEGIS Modernization Team (AMT) Aegis Weapons Systems Lead is responsible for being the lead technical contact on projects. This team lead guides the AMT towards successful completion of major AEGIS Modernizations. Candidate will serve as the AMT’s spokesperson regarding these actions. Additional program work will be assigned in support of Ships Self Defense System (SSDS), LCS Lethality and Survivability combat system support, New Construction ship integration and testing, Lockheed Martin support of the Missile Defense Agency, and United States Coast Guard programs. In-Service Engineering Agent Installation and Test Coordination, Combat Systems Operational Sequence System (CSOSS), Technical Documents, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) International Ship Integration and Test is additional work that may be assigned. Assigned work will be across multiple programs requiring senior level initiative and a high degree of self-initiated support. Position is based in San Diego.
-Responsible for Safety, Security, and Functional and Cross Functional Training of Lockheed Martin and contracted employees funded to provide AEGIS Weapon System (AWS) Test Program execution and Support services in during the Aegis Test Program.
-Reviews all combat system test planning, scheduling, execution, and lessons learned and provides feedback to the Combat Systems Team.
-Analyze preliminary test execution schedules within the cognizant locale to identify/ determine overall support requirements.
-Ensures test equipment, personnel, and prerequisites are available and online to support the test schedule.
-Works with on-site contractor and government leads to de-conflict/coordinate personnel resources in support of the accomplishment of the total ship test program IAW contractual milestone schedule
-Monitors installation/production work and determines the impacts to system testing and provides feedback to the Combat Systems Team.
-Monitors AEGIS Light Off combat system assessment testing issues and determines the impacts to system testing and provides feedback to Combat Systems Team.
-Interface with Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs) Assessment Directors (AD) as directed by the AEGIS Test Officer.
- Provides real-time feedback to ATO/ATM and PEO IWS 1.0 management and LM Management on significant events, issues, or progress on test programs/events being supported by AMT personnel
-Works with shipbuilder to resolve/de-conflict high level issues affecting the total ship test program.
-Coordinates with NSWC PHD and PEO IWS 1.0 to ensure the exchange of Best Practices, sharing of Lessons Learned, metrics reporting, size, composition and development/refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure consistent task assignment execution amongst the organizations
-Reviews and tracks AEGIS Light Off combat system assessment test results and provides feedback for inclusion in the Test Officer’s Availability Completion Report.
-Tracks the progress and status of Operational Verification Tests (OVTs) and Total Ship Test Report (TSTR) during post-availability testing and Contractor sea trials.
-Provide assistance to the AEGIS Test Team/Test Officer to coordinate and schedule Combat System Alignment (CSA) utilizing knowledge of CSAV process and requirements.
-Manages the overall Acquisition Resource Manager (PARM) ship test schedule and coordinates daily test activities.
US Citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications:
-Experience on AEGIS equipped CG/DDG platforms to include detailed knowledge and purpose of the following: Combat Systems Equipment Rooms (CSER 1, 2, 3, 4), Radar, and Array rooms, Mk99 spaces, CIC, Power Conversion Rooms, Tomahawk Equipment spaces, Sonar, Gyro, CIWS, Radio, SSES, VLS, all gun spaces.
-Knowledge and experience with: Computer and Display Systems, SPY-1 Radar Signal Processor and Transmitter, Fire Control System Transmitter, Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC), Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Data Links, AEGIS Combat Training System (ACTS)/ Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT) systems, Gun Weapon Systems (GWS).
-Understand the Navy Modernization process as it applies to DDG/CG platforms.
-Demonstrated overall knowledge of the operations of Combat systems spaces and equipment.
-Candidate will be required, on an infrequent basis, to go underway on combatant units and to frequently work on moored pier-side units.
-Physically able to navigate inclined and vertical ladders as well as work in confined spaces.
-Ability to travel up to 50 percent of the time CONUS and OCONUS.
Candidate must have a final DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position. US Citizenship is required.
Desired Skills:
-Ability to understand and utilize Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 AEGIS Computer Networking Language.
-VMware certifications and skills.
-Experience working Combat System Integrated test packages to include Baseline OVT’s Combat System TSRA, SOVT, FCT, PRT and CERT.
-Experience coordinating Combat System Alignment Verification process and requirements.
-Ability to define and relate administrative and operational organizational structure as applicable to TC/TD roles and responsibilities.
-Experience Tracking and working ships force maintenance in support of initial and AEGIS light off.
-Generation of Sea Trials Events Schedules
-Experience Scheduling Air Services and ranges for Detect to Engage, Alignment Verification, and CS Sea Trials 1 & 2 range events.
-Provide Technical assistance to the Availability Project Engineer and CS Test Engineering managers.
-Experience utilizing Electronic Material Assessment Forms IAW the JFMM (Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual)
-Ability to interface with AMT/ATT/ships force in resolution of Combat System test, operation, and modernization issues.
-Ability to generate and provide status reports to the AEGIS Test Officer, LM Program, and AEGIS Test Manager.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
