Job Description
The Project Executive (PX) is a senior manager responsible for delivering large-scale construction projects. The PX plans, directs, and coordinates activities for industrial and power projects primarily focused in the Midwestern US. This position requires travel throughout the Midwest and can be based in any of our regional offices. Market types include advanced manufacturing, technology, heavy industrial, and power installations across various industries. The scope of this role may include leading a single mega project or a group of projects in a specific market segment, using varied contract delivery methodologies.
Responsibilities
+ Build and maintain project and company culture through active engagement, open communication, personal connection, and support for all team members and stakeholders.
+ Initiate and maintain liaison with prime clients to facilitate project delivery.
+ Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate and client policies.
+ Confer with project staff to outline work plans, assign duties and responsibilities, and delegate authority.
+ Establish work plans and staffing for each phase of the project, coordinating with senior management for recruitment and assignment of project personnel.
+ Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within budget.
+ Review project proposals or plans to determine timeframes, funding limitations, project procedures, staffing requirements, and available resources for various project phases.
+ Review status reports from project personnel and modify schedules or plans as needed.
+ Prepare project reports for management, clients, or others.
+ Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
+ Coordinate project activities with governmental agencies and subcontractors.
+ Understand and analyze CPM-based project schedules.
+ Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure the project is built safely, on schedule, and within budget.
+ Represent the company in owner progress meetings.
+ Manage financial aspects of contracts and be responsible for project profit or loss.
+ Lead or delegate leadership of project meetings.
+ Mentor and assist with career development of other team members.
+ Participate in strategic planning efforts related to assigned markets.
+ Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
+ Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
+ 10+ years of experience/knowledge in construction, contracts, design, finance, and management.
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret regulations and company policies/standards.
+ Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Business-oriented mindset.
+ Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
+ Thorough understanding of corporate and industry best practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ PE and/or DBIA credentialing is a strong plus.
Work Environment
This position requires travel throughout the Midwest and can be based in any of our regional offices. Travel constitutes 50% of the job. The company offers profit sharing, car allowances, and housing credits or per diem, which can be negotiated in the hiring offer.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $175000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
