Project Finance Funding Officer (F/M/X)

About the role

 

You will be part of the Capital Markets team (today composed of 2 people) within the Treasury department. It is a key role in the management of all external financing related topics within the group as a whole. 

As a Project Finance Funding Officer, you will support the Solvay Decarbonation roadmap. Internally, the role involves close cooperation with other corporate functions as well as responding to the needs of the business to deliver on Solvay's strategy and needs. Externally, this role will include interactions with banks, financial investors, advisors, ratings agencies and others.

The role includes the following responsibilities:

Support the execution of fund raising exercises and business-related financing (project finance, working capital, bond issuance, etc) with a focus on Energy Transition and Energy Efficiency projects;

Actively contribute and support the Head of Treasury in the identification of optimized financing and liquidity schemes and advise on optimal capital structure at Group level

Advise in M&A transactions or Group transversal projects, support Joint Ventures or GBUs in the development and deployment of financing structures, 

Monitor debt maturities and anticipate refinancing;

Work in close cooperation with International Treasury, Corporate Tax, Group Accounting & Reporting and Legal teams in the documentation and implementation of intercompany financing in a timely and cost effective basis;

Identify and negotiate appropriate guarantee lines in anticipation and alignment with the Group and business needs;

Maintain an active dialogue with financial markets and bank partners.

Preserve an intimate knowledge of rating agencies methodology and of the internal model allowing to foresee credit metrics impacts;

Contribute to the pension asset investment strategies and long term incentives plans hedging solutions

About you

Master degree in Economics, Finance, Legal or Engineering;

+/- 8 years of experience in corporate finance and banking, and in particular in project finance

Extensive experience in financial documentation of complex projects is a plus;

Competencies:

Comfortable with a broad array of treasury and finance topics; able to apply experiences and past situations to address the treasury needs;

Fluent in English; other languages (French, Dutch) would be considered a plus;

Comfortable to work across all geographies the group is active in;

Behaviors:

Strong analytical competencies;

Good negotiation, communication, and presentation skills;

Pronounced results oriented approach;

 

About the pay and benefits

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Belgium base pay reasonably expected for this role is 95,000 EUR to 119,000 EUR, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
