Project Financial Associate

Position Summary:

The Project Financial Associate will be a part of the Project Financial Management Team (FMT) and will support financial management responsibilities and financial analysis activities for MSI projects to monitor profitability and minimize financial risks. The position will demand interaction with other supporting units in MSI, with a focus on Operations Teams. The position will report to the Director of Financial Management but will be a shared resource for financial management and financial planning and analysis. The preferred location for this role is in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.

 

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain project budget trackers in support of the Operations Teams. Respond to internal and external requests for financial or budgeting assistance from Operations Teams. Monitor project budget revenue, cost and profit, and financial risk as directed. Assist or improve how MSI tracks project revenue, cost and profit, and financial risk. Attend meetings as a representative of the FMT as appropriate. Advise the Operations Teams on drafting and reviewing financial reports and financial contract modifications as appropriate. Perform financial analysis of projects and portfolio. Provide technical support for corporate financial management reporting. Support department trainings Support related special projects. Perform other duties in support of the financial management activities.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics required.  Minimum one year of financial management, accounting, or related experience required. Experience working on projects with attention to budgets, scope and risk preferred. Knowledge of finance or budgetary systems. Ability to work with geographically distributed and culturally diverse workgroups. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel required. Strong database management and communication skills desired. Fluency in English required.

Pay Transparency Statement:

We are committed to taking a thoughtful, compliant and equitable approach to employment compensation. We commit to providing a holistic comprehensive salary analysis, including reviews of individual skill sets and compensable factors related to qualifications, business needs, internal compensation data, and industry and labor market surveys. The anticipated pay range for this position is $62,000 to $70,000 USD.
