Johnson Service Group is seeking an immediate Geologist for our client in Chatsworth, CA.  

Project Geologist – 3-5 years experience

Position Description:

Project geologist will support/manage environmental field projects. Candidate must be physically fit, detail oriented, excellent note-taker, adept at Excel and Word, and willing to learn.

Job requirements include:
  Experience collecting environmental samples from a variety of media including soil, groundwater, surface water, building material, air, soil vapor. Experience working around drilling rigs, excavators and other heavy equipment, often on construction sites. Demonstrated skill in logging soil according to USCS. Report writing. Data management. Subcontractor oversight.
Minimum requirements
  BS/BA Geology Current 40-hr HAZWOPER Experience in project costing and budget management a plus
Add’l requirements
  Physically fit to complete moderately strenuous field activities including hand augering Must be able to pass physical including respiratory clearance to use respirator Experience working on hazardous materials job site investigations and cleanups Strong data management and writing skills (Excel and Word)
Salary Range $52K to 90K - DOE
