The Project Hydrogeologist / Scientist / Engineer will be responsible for preparing technical scopes of work, conducting field investigations, data analysis and development of conceptual site models, assisting with system design, and reporting to support the needs of clients in the US and abroad. In addition to the technical requirements of the position, the person in this position could be designated as a Project Manager for particular assignments, requiring skills in managing the scope of work, project schedule and budget, project team, and safety requirements associated with the tasks.
The successful candidate will have a background and desire to work in groundwater contaminant fate and transport and experience with site characterization, investigation, and remediation. The candidate must be willing and able to travel for up to 2 – 3 weeks and be comfortable working on field sites in remote locations. The position requires critical thinking skills, communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to organize and analyze a variety of information to be used for decision-making, and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.

Requirements
Education Requirement:A Bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology or related fields such as geology, hydrochemistry, or environmental engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred. Current HAZWOPER 40-hour and MSHA training and certification preferred.
Experience Requirement: A minimum of five years of remediation or groundwater modeling experience working in the mining or energy sectors.
Software:Position requires applicant to have working knowledge of Microsoft Office© software including Access, as well as AQTESOLV and ESRI ArcMap is required. Proficiency using modeling programs such as MODFLOW, FEFLOW, AQTESOLV, and Autodesk Civil 3D AutoCAD© is advantageous.
Potential Travel: Travel to project sites located in the Western US, and elsewhere, both domestic and international. The longest field assignment will likely be on the order of 2 – 3 weeks. It is expected approximately 80-90% of work time will be spent within the home office of the individual.

Physical Demands: Position may require sitting for long periods of time, extended hours working on a computer and lifting up to 30 pounds. Field assignments are located in a variety of climactic conditions and may require standing, squatting, bending, the use of machinery and a variety tools.
Essential Functions:
· Develop technical scope of work and conduct field investigation activities such as drilling supervision, well construction, aquifer testing, packer testing, surface and downhole geophysics, and groundwater sampling.
· The objective of many of the projects will involve the remediation of various contaminants in the environment (air, soil, groundwater, surface water). Other projects may involve developing closure plans and designs for various facilities, including mine infrastructure and waste disposal areas, to meet regulatory requirements.
· Provide support and/or supervision for environmental investigations/studies, including planning, implementation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting aspects.
· Perform analysis of physical and chemical data.
· Prepare accurate and professional technical reports and presentations.
· Project management of team-based project work resulting in client satisfaction and the on-time completion of high quality technical work products.
· Support other Project Managers through the application of various technical and writing skills to achieve established project-specific objectives.
Salary Range: $80,000 to $105,000. Salary is negotiable and based on experience. Competitive benefits are offered to full-time employees in this role.
