Project Lead Engineer
What we are looking for:
Aldridge is seeking an experienced, energetic, self-starting team member with a strong project leadership background to perform engineering design activities for electrical substations. This position is based out of the Libertyville, Illinois office with the ability to work remotely.
What you’ll do:
The Project Lead Engineer will lead internal and external design and engineering resources to support ongoing projects and key pursuits. The Project Lead Engineer is expected to support the Power Division teams and report to the Vice President of Utility Services.
+ Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and quality of assigned projects
+ Perform and direct internal and external resources in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage substations and transmission lines including, but not limited to: one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, Station Electrical Assembly Drawings, cable and conduit plan and details, ground grid design and details, foundation plans and details, structural plans and details, control enclosure design and details, lightning protection plans, bills of materials, inter-discipline coordination activities, specify and select substation equipment, contribute to substation equipment specifications, construction support, facility studies, and site visits
+ Coordinate with Vendors / review and select vendors
+ Manage RFI's and information flow for projects
+ Perform QA/QC for deliverables to clients
+ Support PM with project reporting needs
+ Support proposal development
+ Support the mentorship and training of other team members
+ Shall understand and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designs
+ Travel will be required estimated +/- 25%
Who you are:
We are pursuing experienced professionals with the following qualifications:
+ BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering), BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, or equivalent technical education
+ Or equivalent seven (7) or more years of experience in substation design
+ Experience in 15kV through 345kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards
+ Experience filling the role of project engineer/lead for several transmission & distribution projects occurring concurrently
+ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel and Word
+ Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, tracking and organizing many tasks of varying importance and size
+ Proven ability and desire to mentor and help others
+ Five (5) to seven (7) or more years of experience in substation design
+ Experience in electric utility substation design (15kV through 500kV) and IEEE/ANSI standards is a plus
+ Ability to successfully participate in multiple projects concurrently and manage budgets and schedules
