**Project Leader– Power Tools: Advanced Engineering**

The Advanced Engineering Project Leader leads cross-functional teams in developing breakthrough innovations in our diverse line of power tools. As the leader of this team, you will be responsible for supporting the needs of New Product Development by analyzing upcoming programs, prioritizing key Advanced Engineering Initiatives and developing technology solutions for Milwaukee Tool.
Our ideal candidate possesses strong project management, technical, and cross functional collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex projects. They love to create cross functional business relationships, new products, learn about new technologies, and understand user needs while often thinking about better ways to solve them.
**You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:**
+ · Provide Leadership for a portfolio of small to large projects that may involve global partners. Projects will require robust scope, schedule, risk, and communication management using traditional and agile methodologies at times.
+ · Provide direction, engineering expertise, mentorship, and motivation to cross-functional team to complete objectives and deliverables. Review work of designers, engineers and other project team members.
+ · Build a strong understanding of the market, users, category needs, and business models
+ · Lead ideation, prototyping, testing, concept selection, and test development activities
+ · Directly assess upcoming NPD programs, generate and manage ADV priorities
+ · Frame up and facilitate tradeoff discussions with Marketing and other cross functional team members.
+ · Ensure effective communication with cross functional international team as well as management team. This includes daily team communications as well as high level project summaries.
+ · Does not have formal supervisory responsibilities, although will provide feedback for performance appraisals for Engineering and cross functional project team members
**What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:**
+ · Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent is required.
+ · Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
+ · Experience driving Front End Innovation, Advanced Engineering or New Product Development Projects
+ · Highly developed Electro-Mechanical aptitude is required including an understanding of battery powered electromechanical systems (Batteries, Motors, Electronics, Power Transmission)
+ · Moderate understanding of 3D CAD, and familiarity with tolerance analysis/simulation techniques.
+ · Basic understanding of various cost drivers associated with materials, labor & overhead is required.
+ · To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-starter who has a strong problem-solving skill set and understands design, testing, and manufacturing processes utilized in the production of power tools.
+ · Thrive in a collaborative work environment. Ability to develop and nurture productive business relationships, and influence and educate internal team members and external suppliers
