Position Mission/Summary
This position is a part of a team that is responsible for the project management of GPI’s world-class packaging machinery. This role is responsible for applying professional principles, practices, and techniques to lead project teams and control project schedule, cost, and performance risks to ensure successful project completion and satisfied customers. This role has responsibility for all assigned projects managing customer orders from purchase order through installation and customer acceptance in the field. As a project manager you will represent Graphic Packaging International (GPI) in all interactions with internal and external customer(s). To be successful you will need to work closely with the sales representative the customer and other various functional groups. You will work from company policies and objectives in a focused way to serve customers satisfactorily and profitably. The ability to work independently is essential.
Primary Position Responsibilities
Responsible for thoroughly understanding and communicating requirements to appropriate team members. Manage requirements to meet quality, on-time delivery, and budget requirements. Establish clear ownership for project tasks, ensure that team members have the tools needed and provide timely feedback on project activity. Must be able to facilitate discussion and progress well Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of project objectives. Track progress and review project tasks to make certain deadlines are met appropriately. Assess project issues and identify solutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer goals. Proactively communicate project status, issues, and risks to management. Utilize available standing meetings and scheduling meetings when necessary. Conduct regular status update meetings with all team members, keeping the teams’ needs and requirements in mind. Work collaboratively with development and support staff to maintain a thorough knowledge of product capabilities. Professionally communicate in writing and verbally on a regular basis with customers. Troubleshoot technical issues when required, promote solutions, and escalate appropriately as needed. Ensure customer training and installation planning aligns with customer expectations. Work with OEM’s to ensure auxiliary equipment is on time. Work with PMD sales to complete Customer Expectation Document. Follow-up on projects in a timely and professional manner until a Site Acceptance Test is achieved. Interface between, Sales, Estimating, Production, Carton Design, & Service. Provide project status through weekly status reports. Develop and maintain technical understanding of product lines, including features and benefits.Position Requirements
Post-secondary degree in a technically related discipline and Project Manager Experience preferred. Electrical or mechanical engineering experience preferred. Communicates clearly and effectively to individuals and groups, internally and externally, to exchange ideas and convey detailed information accurately Able to lead cross-functional teams and champion initiatives Ability to travel 30% of the time. Flexible with work hours based on project requirements Strong capacity for critical thinking, decision-making, problem analysis and problem-solving Must be self-directed, proactive and possess strong decision-making skills Able to effectively explain details, creative solutions and methodology to customers Strong organizational skills, detail orientation and accuracy Proficiency with MS Office, SolidWorks, & Manage
Pay Range: $112,560.00 - $150,045.00
