What You Can Expect
The Project Manager Advisor (PMA) is responsible for overseeing energy projects from initial development through final implementation and closeout. These projects focus on energy efficiency measures and renewable energy installations, supporting Public Sector customers such as local cities, schools, and counties to become more sustainable, save money, and improve services.
As the Project Manager Advisor, you will collaborate with ENGIE’s Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams, as well as external engineering and installation partners. The role demands experience managing construction projects, ideally design-build, with a focus on delivering high-quality, on-time, and within-budget results.
This position can be located in Riverside, Pasadena, or Orange and reports to the Director of Project Management.
General
Oversee internal and external project teams, including engineers, construction managers, subcontractors, and subject matter experts Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring their satisfaction with ENGIE’s servicesProject Development
Support the Sales team in customer presentations, interviews, and public meetings (e.g., board and council sessions) Create and manage a portfolio of projects, actively guiding the team through regular meetings to assign tasks, review progress, and address updates Develop project scopes and technical analyses to craft comprehensive solutions tailored to customer needsConstruction
Collaborate with ENGIE’s Construction Manager and vendors to establish and monitor project schedules, ensuring timely adjustments as needed Develop and implement procurement plans in partnership with internal ENGIE procurement and manage vendor contracts and change orders Ensure adherence to local labor compliance regulations and maintain comprehensive project documentation using ProcoreFinancial Management
Manage project budgets, ensuring timely invoicing and cash flow protection through customer payment management Complete monthly financial forecasts and monitor project expendituresPost-Construction
Coordinate with post-construction teams to ensure smooth transitions to operational phases, including savings guarantees and maintenance activities
What you bring:
A minimum of a four (4) year degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or environmental engineering; construction management or related field will be considered A Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the public sector, industrial, or municipal Water/Wastewater industries Ability to review engineering work across all typical energy project scope types Understanding of contract scopes of work, and alignment with subcontractor scopes of work Ability to review and improve energy analysis performed by others for all project sizes Understands durations and requirements of energy measure development and delivery Understands general construction methods and has ability to work with construction manager to implement project Clear technical communication skills, verbally and in writing Analytical and financial analysis skills to predict customer project economics and manage project budgets Negotiation skills that protect ENGIE’s interests on a given project, while building customer and vendor/subcontractor rapport Ability to create and execute on project development and delivery schedules Excellent adherence to schedule, and collaborative problem-solving skills to maintain budget, schedule and customer satisfaction High standards of accuracy, appearance and thoroughness of project documentation
Additional Information/Conditions:
This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; this job will require travel and spending the majority of time on the job site This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis Must be available to travel domestically 20-40% of the time with some overnight trips Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; needed ability to drive to site locations Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies This position consists of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
Compensation
Salary Range: $113,900 – $174,570 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
