Project Management Manager

The Opportunity

The Project Management Manager is primarily responsible for supervising the Project Management group who are tasked with marshaling permanent display projects through the entire development, manufacturing, distribution and postproduction processes making sure that the organization meet and exceed all internal and external customers cost, quality and delivery expectations.   In their role the Permanent Display Manager must set an exemplary example of customer service, expertise in the different manufacturing disciplines and a strong understanding of the internal systems and processes needed to meet all the administrative requirements for managing projects through the entire supply chain. This position reports to the Permanent Displays General Manager and has significant supervisory responsibility.  

 

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

Oversee and manage the Master Project Schedule by assigning approved display projects to the Project Managers based on their workload, product and client assignments and level of expertise with the primary manufacturing discipline required.When necessary, based on workload manage display projects through the entire process.Provide guidance to the project managers on pricing, production lead times and process throughout a given project making sure the customers cost, quality and delivery expectations are met.Support the plant and enterprise Continuous Improvement efforts by participating in projects and holding the Project Management group accountable for engagement.Support the plant and enterprise Safety initiatives by participating in projects and holding the Project Management group accountable for engagement.Monitor process and production quality deficiencies and use the incident data collected to make process improvements in an effort to streamline the supply chain, improve speed to market and reduce cost. Provide Project Managers assistance resolving issues that occur throughout the process including but not limited to Engineering, Model Shop, Design, Pricing, Production, and Billing.  Review cost estimates generated by Project Managers before presenting them to the Commercial Sales group.  Manage the performance review and merit planning processes for direct reports according to company requirements.Responsible for employee development, including coaching, mentoring, and training.Assist with HR functions related to the Project Management group including but not limited to participation in hiring and disciplinary processes.Support inventory management and other customer service requirements at the customer and plant level.Work to identify, vet and manage approved suppliers.  Travel for production review as neededOther duties as assigned


What you need to succeed:

College degree preferred or High school diploma or GED minimum plus five (10) or more years of industry related experience Prior supervisory experience requiredStrong computer skills including a functional working knowledge of the internal systems used including but not limited to the AS400 ERP system and Microsoft Office applications.Excellent time management skillsAbility to read and understand engineering drawings and working knowledge of various measuring tools routinely used with permanent materials and manufacturing processesAdvanced knowledge of permanent display materials, vendors and manufacturing disciplines is mandatory.  Ability to travel
