Overview of Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented Project Manager to join our Corporate Development and Strategy team. Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, the Project Manager will play a dual role in managing significant projects and supporting business development activities, critical to the company’s growth and success. This role requires a proactive, driven, and strategic thinker who can manage complex projects that align with Melinta’s strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Project Planning and Leadership: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive project plans ensuring successful execution and alignment with strategic projects and initiatives within the Corporate Development and Strategy department including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.Prepare and present project updates, progress reports, and recommendations to senior management and other key stakeholders.Business Development Support:Assist in evaluating new licensing and M&A opportunities including conducting comprehensive market research and business case analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and growth opportunities.Support the execution of licensing and M&A deals by managing due diligence activities, coordinating with senior management and cross-functional teams.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, finance, and legal departments, to ensure alignment and successful execution of strategic projects.Stakeholder Management:Act as liaison between the Corporate Development and Strategy Team, project teams, and senior management.Work closely and facilitate communication across functional teams, including manufacturing and supply, clinical development and regulatory, finance, and legal departments, to ensure alignment and successful execution of strategic projects.Regularly update stakeholders on strategic and business development projects through reports and presentations. Risk Management: Proactively identify and escalate risks associated with strategic and business development projects.Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to manage project deliverables.Continuous Process and Procedure Improvement: Collaborate with Chief Business Officer and Vice President, Alliance Management and Strategic Projects to continuously improve strategic and business development project processes based on market trends and operational feedback including cross-functional stakeholder collaboration and communication.Governance and Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, advanced degree or PMP certification preferred.At least 3 years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biopharma industry.Proven experience in project management, corporate development, or strategy consulting roles within the biopharma or pharmaceutical industry.Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-orientated individual.Experience within the hospital ecosystem from a product supply perspective is advantageous.Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct market research, competitive analysis, and financial modeling specific to the biopharma sector.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and collaborate with diverse teams.Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and drive results in a rapidly evolving industry.Experience in mergers and acquisitions, licensing agreements, and strategic partnerships within the biopharma space preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
