Project Manager, Information Technology

Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology Project Management, the Project Manager is primarily responsible to lead, oversee and ensure the successful delivery and management of single or multiple transformational initiatives through governing within scope, quality, time, and cost constraints.  Initiatives will include (but are not limited to) operational model change initiatives; efficiency and effectiveness initiatives; and business capabilities development.  This position may also act as the lead project manager or program manager for multi-site implementations.

The role will be responsible for improving the consistency, quality, predictability, and efficiency of project delivery, and for adherence to the Carlisle IT Project Management methodology and the Carlisle Operating System.  In addition, the Project Manager must have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and customer focused, and highly organized. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Execute best practices and tools for project execution and management Partner with Human Resources to integrate change management best practices into project methodology Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior leaders and stakeholders Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion Liaise with project stakeholders frequently Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools Track project milestones and deliverables Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle. Identify risks and interdependencies, inclusive of mitigation plans. Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements Implement and adhere to the Carlisle IT Project Management Methodology and the Carlisle Operating System (COS) tools for project execution and management Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals Resource balancing across multiple projects. Ensure resources availability. Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary, during project cycle Direct and manage project development from beginning to end Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents within standards Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project  

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant field such as Business & Information Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience 10+ years of experience, including the following: 5+ years of demonstrated successful project management experience 5-10 years of business analysis or management experience 3+ prior years’ experience as a Project / Program Manager for IT related implementation or major upgrade

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred Prefer experience leading and managing large IT projects
