We’re proud to be an industry leader, consistently recognized for excellence in quality and customer service in our stores and online at bn.com.  Barnes & Noble is seeking a self-starting Project Manager with experience managing multiple parallel technology projects for Barnes & Noble. You will play a key role in managing and leading projects that deliver applications and services for Stores, online and/or mobile environments. This is a high visibility position, affording significant interaction with Business Owners and Leadership. The role requires superb communication and presentation skills to drive deliverables and deadlines, conduct meetings, host demonstrations, and facilitate retrospectives with team members and stakeholders. An employee in this position can expect an annual starting rate between $110,000-$120,000 depending on experience, seniority, geographic, locations, and other factors permitted by law. WhatYouDo: • Partner with Product and Business teams to develop and drive the Project Roadmap • Manage and lead cross-functional business / technology teams to achieve committed project scope and deliverables on time, within budget and with high quality • Manage work relations and deliverables with 3rd party partners, internal IT, and internal business teams • Manage medium to large, often highly complex enterprise projects leveraging a “WAgile methodology” (Waterfall/Agile) and performing work under limited supervision; must have ability manage multiple projects with competing priorities, and perform in fast-paced environment • Effective at coordinating and driving multi-task project plans and schedules, issue tracking and issue resolution • Ensure clear communication of project status and keep management informed of problems which could negatively impact the project • Maintain a close working relationship with the E-commerce, Operations, Marketing, Customer Experience and Technology teams • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with both technical and non-technical communities and support teamwork across many diverse groups • Develop and maintain all applicable project documentation, including: Project Budget, Scope, Schedule, Milestones, Issues/Risks, Status updates, Communication plans and Contingency plans Knowledge&Experience: • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Business) or relevant experience • 5-7 years of Project Management experience with the ability to comfortably work in a fast paced, often ambiguous and event driven environment • Scrum certification preferred • JIRA experience preferred • Experience with Microsoft Office and Project (or equivalent) • Understanding of Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies • Experience using Jira and Confluence • Understanding of the entire lifecycle of IT development projects • Ability to proactively drive projects and hold multiple parties accountable to keep projects on track • Must have meeting facilitation skills including setting agendas, task management, time management, taking minutes, managing documentation, and action item management both formal and informal settings • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) including presentation and speaking skills (both in person and via Virtual meeting environments) • Must have effective and sound decision making skills EeoStatement: Barnes & Noble is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
