The UHealth-University of Miami Health System IT Department has an opportunity for a full-time Project Manager, IT Clinical Systems 2.
The Project Manager, IT Clinical Systems 2 is responsible for the project management of healthcare information technologies and applications and will be responsible for all aspects of the clinical systems implementation and optimization project life cycle. The manager must independently and successfully manage multiple, concurrent clinical system implementations and project teams from initiation to closure. The manager oversees the work of and mentors other project managers and team members within the department. The manager is also responsible for evaluating, making recommendations, implementing, and ensuring adherence to project management best practices.
Core Responsibilities:
Develops and oversees PMO staff and project team members on structured methodology and best practices and evaluates all PMO staff project documentation for quality control and training. Leads cross-functional project teams by task assignment and follows up to ensure on-time completion.
Creates and manages programs within the PMO and/or Strategic Operations and champions Strategic Operations initiatives to ensure optimal change management processes, adoption, and adherence.
Utilizing expert Project Management experience and formal training to analyze and propose changes to PMO methodologies, frameworks, and best practices for continuous process improvement.
Oversees and facilitates the Governance and Analysis process for new Health System Technology requests.
Acts as first escalation point within the PMO to resolve issues that may negatively impact a project or project deliverables. Seeks and implements innovative ways to identify, respond to, and control project obstacles/risks.
Responsible for creating and presenting on project and portfolio data to department and organizational leadership.
Performs proactive analysis of current systems and technology in order to recommend potential changes or enhancements that will assist in adhering to the organization's strategic vision and improve operational workflows as well as patient and end-user experience.
Manages testing teams in the creation and monitoring of test plans and testing efforts. Provides oversight to and manages department interns and the internship program.
Creates and maintains comprehensive project plans for Health System IT implementations and initiatives that communicate tasks, milestone dates, statuses and resource allocation and utilizes knowledge of clinical workflows, operations, and regulatory requirements.
Identifies project stakeholders and defines project roles and responsibilities. Leads cross-functional project teams and executes core project management functions end to end on strategic projects that range in scope, budget, team size, risk and complexity.
Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and timely project information in all project plans, communications, status reporting, and document storage sites.
Performs forecasting, change management, escalation management, meeting facilitation, and variance analysis.
Oversee project reviews and is responsible for knowing and communicating the status of multiple projects accurately throughout the project lifecycle to business/technical steering committees and executive leadership.
Provides regular and timely feedback to team members and their respective managers
Leads the documenting and optimization of all UHealth IT policies, procedures, and processes.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.
Department Specific Functions:
Leads, manages, coordinates, and reports on multiple projects, maintaining organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance.
Assembles and drives cross-functional project teams, identifies resources needed, and develops detailed project plans and schedules to ensure on-time completion of projects.
Communicates frequently with team members and senior business stakeholders regarding project status and identifies and resolves project problems, issues, and risks; reports on mitigating steps and actions taken to ensure timely deliverables, project success and quality. Identifies when issues or risks require escalation to senior leadership and proactively communicates potential impact to overall project.
Provides weekly status reports highlighting component and overall project health, accomplishments, plans and issues to project team members and leadership.
Ensures consistent project management processes and tools are employed in alignment with IT PMO best practices, as well as constantly identifies continuous improvement opportunities.
Facilitates decision-making between project team members around technical and non-technical issues related to the project.
Partners with IT team members and project sponsors to deliver the technical components of the project as well as the business readiness activities required to prepare internal business groups and external customers for the project deliverables.
Cultivates inter-departmental relationships with all stakeholders.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, Master’s degree preferred
3+ years’ experience in project/program management in IT, healthcare, or other related functions/fields preferably.
Certifications, Licenses and Training PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred
Six Sigma and/or Lean certification
Experience in an Agile/Scrum highly desired.
Experience with EPIC applications or EPIC certified (in particular EPIC applications)
Clinical background or experience with clinical workflows
Experience in information systems, cyber security, or architecture
Experience in new product introduction lifecycles that include physical hardware as well as embedded or application software
Excellent interpersonal skills
