Project Manager, Rigging Installation- Remote

Position Overview

Manage communication, workflow, budget, materials handling, project tracking, and travel logistics for the rigging installation group.  This position will work independently onsite under remote supervision from the Sr. Project Manager, Rigging Installations and the National Director, Rigging Installations. The Project Manager will work directly with the rigging operations team as well as all key stakeholders and attend to all details to ensure the successful on budget and timely completion of each project.

Key Responsibilities 

Project Planning

Responsible for creating and executing a detailed installation plan at a given budget.  This plan will included crew list, materials list, ship list, purchase orders, project at a glance, job hazard analysis, and property intro letter.  Responsible for arranging; project dates, crew flights, lifts, car rentals, and lodging.  Project Manager will be responsible for circulation of project details to crew and all internal and external stakeholders.  

Project Execution

Coordinate and attend to all details as to ensure the successful, on budget, and timely completion of approved rigging installation projects. Will be the onsite point of contact for all project stakeholders.  Responsible for tracking and reporting back all project costs accurately and timely.  Will report project details back to the Installation group daily. Responsible for the layout of points based on plotted drawings to ensure accuracy. Supervise the safe installation of the points and verify that all points are installed according to specifications.  Collect all necessary information, including final plot and structural package, to ensure a projects success.  Will gather all onsite expenses and submitted to the installation team management.  At the completion of the installation project they will submit; an inspection report to Inspection Coordinator, completed check list to installation management, and a thank you/wrap up letter to DET.  Coordinate any necessary follow up visits, repairs, or permitting inspections as needed. 

Crew Management

Regularly monitor and coordinate travel needs for rigging installation team members (including as-needed employees) for the purpose of performing rigging installation projects.  They will oversee the actions of an onsite crew during the installation project.  They will be responsible for overall crew safety and all safety meetings at shift start.  They will ensure that crew training is applicable to the task at hand.  Consistently adheres to company travel policy and encourages others on the team to do the same with respect to budgetary guidelines and installation needs.  This position will be responsible for lodging, airfare, and transport logistics, entering crew hours into Kronos, and pre-planning for the crew.

Job Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• 3-4 years project management experience

• IRATA or SPRAT certification preferred

• Scissor and Boom Lift certifications preferred

• First Aid Certification preferred

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook

• Proficient in CAD 

• An understanding of layout drawings and measurement taking 

• Communicate effectively about project outlines and plans to end-users and internal personnel 

• Ability to manage several pieces simultaneously 

• Ability to lead construction teams with adherence to a timeline

Work Environment

The majority of work is performed in an office environment with travel to hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust.  The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes.  Team members will use high-end audio visual equipment and electrical components, and will be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders.  Team members may be asked to work in multiple hotel locations.  Working times will include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.   Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by PSAV based on an individual hotel or a representation of hotels in that city or area.  30% travel is required.
