Project Manager, Start-Up, R2L Start-up
• Amazon Operations is seeking Project Managers with project management experience to own strategic, cross-functional projects within Rapid and Rural Logistics (R2L) centers.
• These roles require scoping and creating project plans, placing and tracking orders, and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process/project changes.
• Cross-team coordination and project management skills are essential.

Key job responsibilities
• Plan, direct and supervise the procurement and quality control tasks and administrative functions of the assigned project.
• Partner with customers and internal/external teams to ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
• Monitor and report on the progress of all project activity including significant milestones and conditions which would affect project cost or schedule.
• Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks.
• Place Bill of Material (BOM) orders via coupa and partner with order tracking team to provide updates to execution team.
• Manage project budget and approve all purchase orders.
• Travel up to 20%.

A day in the life
This role focuses on orchestrating the smooth launch and operation of new Rapid and Rural Logistics (R2L) Delivery sites. It involves working closely with cross-functional stakeholders on a daily basis to ensure that all planning, sourcing, and operational components align seamlessly. The role is integral to driving efficiency and innovation, ensuring projects are executed on time, within scope, and with optimal resource utilization.
Daily Activities:
· Using Smartsheet as the main project management tool and tracker, manage assigned new site launch projects from a procurement perspective.
· Reference site-specific templates to complete tasks, review upcoming milestones, and prepare for meetings.
· Employ current standard operating procedures (SOP) and how-to guides for task completion.
· Identify, problem solve and address blockers or potential risks early by coordinating with relevant stakeholders to develop contingency plans.
· Communicate with stakeholders via outlook, slack or chime regarding project updates, risks, blockers and path-to-green address immediate queries or updates.
· Plan and prepare for daily and weekly meetings.
