Job Summary Position will implement special projects and strategies relative to activation and operation of City-owned properties including, but not limited to the Downtown Canal, Lugar Plaza, Union Station, Georgia Street, Transportation Center, and the Indiana Repertory Theatre. This position will work closely with the Administrator to manager properties as well as establish strong relationships with tenants, stakeholders, and residents. Position Responsibilities + Work with the Administrator to implement policy and strategies relative to activation and operation of DMD-owned legacy properties. + Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders and vendors for each DMD property in which the Property Manager is responsible. + Maintain a regular and routine presence at all properties (i.e., weekly site visits, meetings with vendors and stakeholders on-site, etc.) + Answering questions and fulfilling maintenance requests, ensuring that properties are maintained at the highest quality level. + Serve as one of the department's emergency contacts for all long-term properties; if an emergency arises, may include evenings or weekends. + Support the Administrator in preparation of all real estate agreements, leases, rental agreements, licenses, rights of entry, etc. + Evaluate and make recommendations to the Administrator of all necessary repairs, preventative and emergency, including costs and timeline. + Analyzes and recommends procedure, policy, lease, and contract changes affecting the management of DMD-owned properties. + This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Construction Management, Public Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Prior work in property or project management strongly preferred. Government experience a plus. Maintain effective working relationships with a full range of city/county colleagues, community stakeholders, and third-party vendors. Excellent public speaking, writing, and listening skills are crucial, as is attention to detail. Ability to perform multiple complex and high-profile tasks simultaneously is required, as is the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Must be able to regularly attend meetings and perform work outside of the office, occasionally in challenging physical environments. Computer literacy is required; proficiency in GIS and Microsoft Office is strongly preferred. Valid Indiana operator/driver license is required.
