ABOUT THE POSITION

Project Manager - Site Investigation & Remediation | Hauppauge, NY | Hybrid

 

VHB is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Environmental Scientist / Engineer / Geologist for our strong and growing Site Investigation & Remediation practice in Hauppauge, NY. This hire will assist in team, client, and project management responsibilities.

 

Responsibilities

Work closely with clients to determines requirements and develop plans, specifications, drawings, instructions, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, and related documentsDevelop and manage effective site investigation and remediation field programsProvide mentoring and hands-on support to junior team members during field exploration and testing Interpret and communicate investigation findingsLeverage technology to support data management and visualization Manage and lead Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, engineering evaluation/cost analyses, remedial investigation/feasibility studies, remediation implementation, and long-term monitoring programsReview and write technical reports, correspondence, notes, and memoranda

Skills and Attributes

Ability to work primarily in the office with some field oversightEffectively communicate complex topics with colleagues and clientsRecognize and manage business riskProblem solve and work independentlyStrong understanding of State regulatory requirements Ability to make quick decisions regarding regulatory applicability and respond to clients in an efficient mannerExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsMotivated and able to problem-solve Strong knowledge of site assessment/characterization, data analysis, remediation techniques, and risk assessmentExperience working on contaminated sites throughout New York including interaction with local, State, and Federal regulators PFAS experience and knowledge preferred

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or related field required8-11 years of professional environmental remediation experience required, depending on level of education (master’s may substitute for 1 year)11-15 years of experience preferredMaster’s Degree preferred OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications requiredProfessional Licensure expected or on track to obtain (PE, PG, QEP)

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Hauppauge, NY is $95,000-135,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
