EXP’s Infrastructure & Transportation Practice provides comprehensive planning, design and construction engineering services. With a unique multidisciplinary team approach, we have a history of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects. We are currently looking to grow and enhance our project management capabilities and are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Project Manager for our Towson, Maryland office.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Manage a wide variety and complexity of highway related projects. Maintain project schedules and manage project financials including profit/loss responsibility and targeted direct margin. Coordinate staff required for internal project teams, including directing, coordinating and reviewing work by others. Perform design computations, oversee report, plan and specification development and sign and seal construction documents as necessary. Oversee and approve invoicing/billing and manage project scope and secure change orders as necessary, chase A/R and provide internal reporting as may be required. Work with other senior staff within Infrastructure & Transportation and other practices groups, as necessary, to execute project delivery. Act as EXP’s representative with the client and subcontractors during project, negotiations, execution and close-out. Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for project pursuits. Develop and maintain client relationships.
What your experience looks like
BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. 10+ years of progressively responsible relevant experience. Licensed PE in Maryland. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead diverse project teams with a strong track record of project delivery from both a technical and financial perspective. Significant Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) project management experience. Experience writing proposals for MDOT SHA design contracts. Experience managing both planning and design related projects. Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) experience a plus Knowledge in CADD delivery issues and workflows and proficient in MS Office software. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians. Strong leadership, project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Ability to mentor engineering staff. Business development and client relationships desirable. Industry participation in professional societies desirable.
