Project Manager

This position is responsible for directing day-to-day operations of the contract site Support Services Center (SSC). Will implement policies and procedures in order to attain program goals and objectives in accordance with the Statement of Work. Considered essential personnel with the ability to respond to work in a timely manner as determined by contract needs.

Directs and reviews the work of SSC each workday to ensure compliance with processing standards and operating procedures and the requirements of this contract. Addresses problems related to the personnel employed under this contract and assists in the resolution of all personnel problems. Conducts periodic quality control checks to insure that all quality procedures are being adhered to. Develops and implements quality control procedures, monitors the work produced under this contract and initiates corrective actions to ensure conformance with established standards and procedures. Recommends to the COTR, as appropriate, new or proposed revisions to mail processing guidelines and instructions to ensure efficient and effective operations. Coordinates with Human Resources regarding personnel issues such as recruitment and staffing, employee relations and evaluations as well as obtaining adequate personnel to accomplish required work. May also coordinate efforts with the Rehabilitation Department to handle issues arising from employees with disabilities. Provides on-the-job training in mail processing methods and procedures to newly assigned messengers and develops visual aids as required to promote operational efficiency. Assists with the implementation of consumers' individual service plans. Resolves working level complaints and/or problems regarding incorrectly sorted USPS and interoffice mail, resolving all other operational problems within the scope of this contract, and prepares responses within established time frames to all written service complaints received by/from the COTR.
