ABOUT THE ROLE

HUB’s dynamic and growing Technology and Operations Delivery PMO, has an opportunity for a Project Manager to lead high-performing teams on mission critical, enterprise-changing initiatives.  The successful candidate will be an A+ communicator who is ready for the spotlight, welcomes challenges, and always drives for the best business outcome.  Seeking a leader who will bring a perspective, contribute to the intellectual strength of the Technology and Operations Delivery PMO team, and work with a mindset of continual improvement.  This is an individual contributor role and willingness to work and grow in a team environment is key.

Responsibilities:

Lead multiple projects, embedding, as needed, with various team leaders.Understand HUB's business goals to deliver project outcomes in alignment with overall strategies.Develop and manage detailed project plans in collaboration with the project team, including schedules, resources, budget, and issue and risk management.Collaborate and integrate project planning details with initiatives across the organization.Contribute to a collaborative environment among business teams, internal IT teams, and vendorsPartner with key stakeholders; communicate critical project information, and actionable insights, to the right stakeholders at the right timeHold stakeholders accountable for delivering the scope, timeline, and business benefits as committed in plansCoordinate, communicate, and implement course correction measures at initial signs of trouble to ensure healthy scope, schedule, budget, and business valueCoordinate with business liaisons and organizational change management resources to ensure end-user impacts are properly communicated and adoptedBuild relationships with Service Desk and IT Operations teams to coordinate smooth transition of project work into routine production supportCollaborate with PMO colleagues to enhance PMO delivery methodologies; grow organizational capabilities across both traditional waterfall and agile delivery approachesDevelop high level of IT organizational agility; understand HUB's enterprise solutions and pursue effective relationships with the IT teams that support and enhance these solutions

Qualifications:

Demonstrate the ability to undertake the above responsibilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to present to and facilitate project team, stakeholder, and executive audiencesAble to articulate the business value of the projects to multiple audiencesExceptional problem-solving and decision-making skillsExperience in leading virtual and vendor partner teamsAble to work under pressure and meet deadlinesAble to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential informationHigh attention to detail and quality, the ability to monitor and evaluate performance and quality, and the drive to implement improvements or corrective actions as neededAnalytical and reporting skillsAble to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasksDeep understanding of Operations and "run" aspects of IT, for back-end systems and end-user technologyExperience with delivering initiatives that have had disruptive impact on high number of usersPassionate about delivering business value to business partners and end-usersCustomer centric mindset that anticipates business needs and responds positively to feedbackAbility to lead and motivate others, demonstrating empathy and knowledge of personality typesExperience managing stakeholders across organizational levelsDesire to learnExperience in standard waterfall delivery methodology and exposure to Agile

Requirements:

Bachelors in computer science, information systems, business administration or related fieldMinimum 5 + years’ experience working in key roles on major delivery initiativesAt least 5 + years’ experience acting in the lead delivery role on projects or programs, which are medium to large complexity and scaleDesired:Project Management and/or Agile certificationBusiness process design and business analysis experienceExperience leading change management initiativesInsurance background

Although Chicago hybrid is preferred, candidates in the US will be considered.
