Project Overview: Policymakers face a critical gap in evidence regarding the long-term effects of food and nutrition interventions on population health, health disparities, and cost-effectiveness. Our NIH-funded project (https://reporter.nih.gov/search/FMn6vaUWf0-7l3SPhrLd_A/project-details/10981091) aims to address this gap by utilizing a validated, state-of-the-art dynamic microsimulation model. This model will assess the long-term health outcomes, health equity, and economic impact of four promising policy interventions designed to address food and nutrition insecurity among the US adult population, including various racial/ethnic and socioeconomic groups.
