Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Design-Build Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, design, and construction phases of design-build projects within our Industrial Division, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong leader with excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of design and construction processes, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders efficiently.
ResponsibilitiesLead the design-build project team, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.Oversee the design process, ensuring compliance with project specifications, building codes, and regulations.Coordinate with clients to understand their needs and ensure their expectations are met.Facilitate communication and collaboration among project stakeholders.Monitor projects, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.Ensure quality control and safety standards are maintained throughout the project.Prepare and present project reports, including progress updates, financial summaries, and risk assessments.Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.Quote work and effectively manage the project to ensure profitability.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in construction or engineering.At least 3 years of experience with Design-Build projects.Proficient with front-end sales and project development, including compiling proposals and conceptual estimating.Experience in managing projects valued up to $50 million.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project).Additional Skills & QualificationsPMP or other relevant certifications are a plus.Work Environment
This role involves heavy travel, reporting to either the Madison, WI or Janesville office. The position includes working on a variety of industrial projects, primarily upgrades to existing facilities, such as manufacturing food and beverage sites. Travel constitutes approximately 33% of the role, with a few weeks onsite followed by a few weeks back home. This is a salaried position with additional benefits such as per diem or hotel bookings, cell phone allowance, and a company vehicle. Paid time off starts at around 90 hours plus holidays.
