Project Manager
Job Title: Project ManagerJob Description We are seeking a mid-level Project Manager to join our team in the Hampton Roads area. This role involves managing multiple projects on the Navy MAAC, with the flexibility of working remotely and on-site as needed. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a project manager is required. Experience working on federal bases is a plus but not mandatory. Responsibilities + Plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. + Organize and oversee construction procedures to ensure timely and efficient completion. + Interpret project specifications and contract drawings. + Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget. + Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to meet deadlines. + Oversee the delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment; ensure worker safety and productivity; and maintain the quality of construction. + Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports, ensuring project documents are complete, current, and stored properly. + Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues. + Determine needed resources from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations. + Identify, track, manage, and resolve project issues. + Prepare and submit monthly invoicing and progress reports. + Communicate with and direct subcontractors, material suppliers, and field personnel. + Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders; review and prepare submittals as necessary. Essential Skills + Proven experience as a construction project manager. + In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles. + Knowledgeable in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, tiling, and other architectural finishes, as well as landscaping, doors & windows, and other building/repair trades. + Ability to manage multiple projects while complying with strict safety, quality, and technical protocols. + Familiarity with quality standards and health and safety requirements. + Experience with Project Management systems such as Timberline, Procore, and P6 Primavera. + Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. + Ability to provide references to support work history. + Ability to work closely with people of diverse backgrounds and levels of authority. + Willingness to travel 10-20% around the Hampton Roads area for meetings. + Eligibility to legally work in the US or US Citizenship. + Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in construction management, RFI, estimation, construction, change orders, and construction documentation. + Knowledge of exterior, mechanical, safety, and site development aspects of construction. Work Environment The job site is located at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. This position offers a mix of remote work and on-site (office/trailer) work as needed.
