Project Manager
Job Title: Construction Project ManagerJob Description We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to join our team and oversee the successful completion of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will plan, organize, and staff key field positions, establish project objectives, policies, and procedures, and ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, technical direction, and employee development skills. Responsibilities + Collaborate with members of the construction project team to ensure the success of the project. + Plan, organize, and staff key field positions. + Establish project objectives, policies, and procedures as well as performance standards. + Control and monitor construction through the on-site superintendent to ensure that the project is built on schedule and within budget. + Provide technical direction and employee development. + Develop and implement project scheduling standards and procedures and monitor compliance. + Manage all planning and scheduling activities including schedule development, progress update reports, and problem analysis activities. + Maintain input for schedules, cost reports, project accounting, estimates, document control, and RFI/shop drawing logs. + Prepare meeting agendas, attend project meetings, and prepare and distribute minutes. + Solicit and obtain quotes for vendor-supplied items and subcontracts in compliance with specifications. + Summarize vendor bids based on price, delivery, quality, and past performance. + Negotiate terms and conditions. + Prepare and issue subcontracts and subcontract change orders. + Prepare and place purchase orders and purchase change orders. + Handle third-party rental agreements. + Address and resolve invoicing problems. + Expedite the site delivery of materials and labor. + Interact with subcontractors and vendors to address construction issues. + Correct any material or equipment defects and monitor any warranty claims. + Assemble closeout documentation in accordance with contract requirements. Essential Skills + Construction project management experience. + Knowledge of architectural, structural, and/or MEP systems. + Construction/field experience. + Exceptional computer skills. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, as well as technical knowledge of construction assemblies and construction costs. + Detail-oriented and organized with strong time management skills. + Team player with the ability to communicate with team members and management. + Professional written and oral communication skills. + Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering + Management, Architecture, or related fields preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with interior construction, commercial fit-outs, and lab fit-outs. + Ability to run projects independently from start to finish. + 5+ years of experience with fit-out projects, lab construction, scheduling, and budget management. + Strong communicator with a positive and fun attitude. Work Environment Primarily working from the job site, with some work from home and occasional time spent in the office.
