Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in mechanical contracting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage projects efficiently. ResponsibilitiesReview plans, specifications, submittals, and other contract documents to pursue and bid approved projects.Collaborate with superintendents on schedules and manpower requirements for drafting, fabrication, installation, and start-up.Submit submittal documents for approval.Procure equipment and materials using purchase orders and subcontracts.Work with other safety professionals to develop and enforce the company's safety program.Closely monitor job progress and convene internal meetings as necessary to review production reports and job costs versus budgets.Submit monthly status reports including profit projections to management.Maintain a professional rapport with architects, engineers, building owners, installers, and suppliers.Attend job meetings as necessary.Ensure that contractual obligations have been met.Essential SkillsMinimum 3 years' experience as a Project Manager in mechanical contracting.Experience in both commercial HVAC and plumbing.Strong mechanical aptitude and a thorough understanding of construction documents, plans, and specifications.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.Good interpersonal skills and the ability to lead project teams with limited supervision.Additional Skills & QualificationsCollege degree in engineering, building science, or a related field.Experience with design-build, preconstruction activities, and design-assist.Experience with pull planning, Procore, Plangrid, Microsoft Project, or other construction software.Work Environment
The position is primarily office-based with weekly visits to local job sites and monthly visits to out-of-town job sites.
