The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Project Manager (PM) manages the implementation of multiple complex enterprise-wide projects that directly impact the organizational strategic plan. The Project Manager (PM) will coordinate with internal and external resources and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope and budget, and to stakeholder expectations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage large, complex projects impacting the entire WWP organization.

Work closely with the Strategy and Innovation team, leaders, and key stakeholders to ensure projects are implemented in alignment with strategic and departmental goals.

Oversee multiple enterprise-wide projects, inclusive of technical and business solutions, through the project lifecycle ensuring projects are completed timely, within budget and scope, and to stakeholder expectations.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables in support of business goals. Identify resources required to achieve project goals.

Apply appropriate project management methods and tools, to include predictive (plan-driven) approaches and/or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.

Create project plans, in collaboration with project team and stakeholders to include project schedule and timeline, risk management, change management, and communications plan.

Assign tasks and responsibilities to appropriate resources and track tasks for completion.

Utilize developed project management playbook, best practices, and templates to prepare and maintain project documentation, e.g., project charters, project plans, communications plans, requests for proposals, process maps, use cases, backlogs, and business requirements.

Effectively communicate project expectations and project status to team members and stakeholders.

Maintain active and effective project control, assisting team members as needed to keep project on schedule.

Work closely with the Procurement team to identify, acquire, and manage third party vendors for project resources.

Work closely with the Legal team to negotiate and obtain project statements of work, quotes, and contracts.

Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify, assess, and manage project risks, devise contingency plans, and track spending and forecast against the project budget.

Schedule and facilitate meetings, and record meeting minutes and action items.

Ensure that the project is formally closed, appropriate documentation is retained and organized, and that lessons learned are recorded.

Provide post-implementation support as needed.

Provide updates and reports to Program Managers, Strategy team, leadership chain, and other stakeholders as needed to ensure awareness and alignment across projects.

EXPERIENCE

Requirements

Five years of experience managing multiple, simultaneous enterprise-wide projects using waterfall methodologies.

Five years of experience using project planning tools, e.g., Microsoft Project and Smartsheet.

Preferences

Knowledge of various project management methodologies.

Three years of experience managing vendor performance.

Non-profit experience.

Experience in business analysis.

EDUCATION

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURE

Requirements

Project management certification or currently pursuing project management certification, e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

Preferences

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

General office environment; temperature controlled.

Sitting for extended periods.
