The Supply Chain Project Manager supports the supply chain organization by assisting in the implementation of projects aimed at increasing distribution capacity, enhancing productivity, reducing expenses, maximizing throughput, and improving workplace safety. This role involves managing the planning, design, integration, and implementation of supply chain projects to ensure that project goals are met on time and within budget.

 

The Supply Chain Project Manager will assist in directing and tracking multiple supply chain projects. By actively participating in project execution, this role ensures that project objectives are achieved while maintaining cost control, meeting deadlines, and ensuring all departments impacted by the project are informed of their responsibilities and any departmental changes.

A Day In The Life:

Project Planning & Design:

Plan, design, and document the needs, concepts, and expected benefits of assigned supply chain projects.Perform due diligence on each project to ensure accurate cost assumptions, capacity analysis, and timing projections.

Project Management:

Manage the acquisition and implementation of assigned projects using project management tools to ensure the completion of tasks and the achievement of quantifiable results.Coordinate and track project progress, ensuring communication of status updates to management and relevant stakeholders.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure that business requirements are met effectively and efficiently.Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for project processes as required.

Testing & Analysis:

Participate in testing new concepts to improve flow and setup in distribution centers.Support capital projects with work sampling, cost justification (ROI), and cost/benefit analysis.

Additional Duties:

Develop recommendations based on throughput constraints, work methods, and ergonomics.Propose and manage the development of improved operational and key metrics reporting.You'll Come With:3-5 years of experience in project management related to process design, work measurement, productivity improvement, cost reduction, and project implementation.Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while recognizing interdependencies and prioritizing effectively.Solid leadership, coaching, and team management skills.Strong project management and analytical skills, including cost analysis for project justification.Preferred:Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification.Experience in distribution center operations within a national logistics network.Proficiency with AutoCAD, database management, and supply chain software such as Manhattan Associates or Dematic WCS functionality.Familiarity with distribution center material handling systems design and implementation.No specific licenses or certifications required, though preferred certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP, CSCP) are a plus.
