Position OverviewOpportunity to lead and influence significant innovation and IT modernization initiatives with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Office of Information Technology Services (OITS).
FHWA requires advice and assistance to ensure oversight, coordination, and support for IT initiatives through the organization, including support for the Technology Review Board and the Investment Review Board.As FHWA works to modernize its IT systems and infrastructure, they will need expertise and guidance from experienced project managers, especially those with experience with Agile development.
This position will have the opportunity to provide a comprehensive range of technical and professional services such as portfolio management support and other analytical and process support services to improve FHWA IT program management.
Responsibilities Provide program management support services in the areas of project management and operations management. Provide a comprehensive range of technical and professional services to support FHWA’s program management requirements, including: Providing advice and assistance in planning, designing, developing, implementing, and managing effective governance strategies and integrated IT project Supporting customers in implementing and maintaining governance strategies, plans, activities, policies, procedures, and tools. Evaluating, recommending, and supporting the implementation of program and project management tools and capabilitiesAssisting in the analysis, planning, designing, developing, selecting, implementing, integrating, and maintaining other project or program management tools such as resource, asset, cost, risk, and other management tools. Monitoring performance, track/report trends, analyze issues and advise on corrective action plans regarding overall schedule, scope, and cost. Providing advice on maintaining overall cost, schedule, and scope Performing IT initiatives performance assessments, conducting lessons learned Creating optional deliverables as specified by the COR and/or Information technology Project Manager (ITPM). Provide advice and assistance that is based on Government and industry best practices in the areas of program and project management. Support development of a Program/Project Management Plan for each assigned projectDevelop and provide a Monthly Status ReportCreate and maintain a Quality Management PlanMaintain full and open communications with this Task Order Contracting Officer’s Representative, system owners, FHWA IT leadership and staff, and all other relevant stakeholders. Communicate and coordinate effectively and proactively with other contractors.
