Project Manager

Job Description

Plans, monitors and manages internal projects from initiation through completion. Work cross-functionally and collaboratively, with business and technical team members in and outside of business unit, to receive input from and provide updates to affected stakeholders. (20%) Manages and participates in long term strategic planning efforts and develops short term capital project plans (roadmap) to meet strategic and operational objectives. Manages and participates in project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management, progress reporting, troubleshooting and people management. (15%) Assists in the development of project plans to define and sequence activities, estimating tasks and dependencies, and build the comprehensive plan to achieve project objectives. Facilitate the execution of the project plan, continually monitoring progress, identifying and managing execution risks and driving issue resolution. (15%) Management and forecasting of internal resources, time tracking, and capabilities needed to deliver on goals and initiatives. Ensure accuracy of project charges and internal time reporting, report variances and provide financial forecasts. (10%)Monitors performance and communicates regularly, recommending schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions. Monitor project budgets, creates budget forecasts and variance analyses. Manage contractor and consultant/vendor payment scheduling, payment validation and processing. (10%) Communicates general understanding of core business processes of the cycle of customer service and develops documentation of process, system and data flows as appropriate. Demonstrates strong customer experience business acumen in the leadership of projects and initiatives. (10%)Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively, making customer issues a priority. Build flexible plans to accommodate a shift in priorities if customer issues or production business support is required. (10%) Represents FL Ops Customer Experience on projects/initiatives and works across corporate Emera and affiliates including NMGC, Nova Scotia Power, Emera Maine, and Emera Caribbean. (10%)

Preferred:

Project Management Professional certification.

Experience Required:

Minimum of 2 years of professional-level experience managing complex projects or programs. (In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum 4 years’ complex project management experience with an Associate’s degree; or 10 years’ project management experience with a High School diploma.)

Preferred:

Experience managing complex projects or programs in Customer Service business processes at a regulated utility.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities -Required:

Proficient knowledge of project management and portfolio analyses. Ability to plan, prioritize and organize complex projects. Possess strong collaboration qualities including excellent oral and written communication skills and team building skills. Strong relationship building at all levels of the organization. Proficient use of MS Project and advanced Excel knowledge.

Preferred:

Project Management knowledge in a Customer Experience utility environment desired. Knowledge of Agile project management and Agile project delivery methods.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00
