Project Manager
Description Job Purpose: To contribute to the success of our customers by effectively integrating new customers, new products, customer-related projects, and internal projects into the Apex Operations and Quality Management System (QMS). Job Duties and Responsibilities- the Project Manager (PM) will be successful by fulfilling the following job responsibilities and competencies. (Percentages = priority and approximate time focus) 1. Ensure the successful integration of new customers and projects into Apex by using current continuous improvement processes. 40% • Lead and oversee end-to-end project management activities within the pharmaceutical sector, ensuring timely and successful project delivery • Provide insights about customer’s business to achieve an intimate knowledge throughout Apex operations. • Ensure communication of all project expectations or changes to all required parties. • Ensure the project remains on track based on timelines; report and escalate as needed. • Maintain all onboarding tools and ensure use of processes for onboarding new projects. • Conduct effective meetings that move the project forward and ensure adherence to milestones. • Ensure that project parameters, set-ups and pricing are input into the Apex system for new items in a timely and accurate manner. • Track all purchase of equipment changes to properly fill and package products per specifications and customer requirements. • Facilitate project tasks by integrating with the formulation flow cell on all formula requirements. • Ensure seamless hand-off to Operations during transition between project on-boarding and order entry/fulfillment. • Plan and oversee line setups for all required new product builds. 2. Effectively add value and manage customer expectations throughout all project processes. 30% • Operations liaison during onboard of new customers in alignment with the Apex value proposition & drive overall satisfaction. • Provide the customer with proactive information concerning any and all pertinent Apex operations constraints and recommended solutions related to all projects that result in equipment modifications. • Ensure customer satisfaction by intentionally providing consistent follow-through and determining ways to improve tools and processes in production for new product launches. • Manage changes required by customer through Apex change control process. 3. Effectively manage the ongoing accuracy of pricing on new items and existing items. 15% • Work with Engineering and PM to ensure quotes are delivered accurately and in a timely manner for new project as well as quarterly/bi-annual/annual price updates. • Verify that costs are achievable by completing and reviewing post-production evaluations on all new items; communicate to PMon variances to revise pricing or production process with Engineering. 4. Understand and maintain a culture of “lean action” within the department so that we live lean better than any organization. 10% • Implement and maintain standards and processes that eliminate waste throughout the department • Apply and utilize “lean tools” to permanently implement improvements. • Institutionalize 5-S in all aspects of the department ( Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize and Sustain) 5.
