About the Opportunity 

We are recruiting for Project Managers to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Solutions team supporting our key client EDF Energy Nuclear Operations with their nuclear fleet in the UK. 

This is a key role within our project and engineering portfolio which is spread across our UK network at all UK sites and stations. You will be supported and mentored by experienced professionals within Jacobs and given the training and opportunities you need to develop and expand your management and leadership skills with larger and more complex projects.   

Sizewell B began construction in 1988 and since 1995 has generated 250 TWh of zero carbon electricity, which is the equivalent of enough to power every home in Suffolk for 192 years, or like taking 42 million cars off UK roads for a year. You will be part of a large client-led team at Sizewell B Power Station and will be accountable to the client Project Manager, Programme Manager and/or Construction Manager. Flexible working arrangements between office and home may be possible, however the role will predominantly be based at the Power Station.  Key responsibilities will be\:

Producing and maintaining engineering documentation including quality plans and technical specifications Management of technical queries in accordance with relevant processes and procedures Supporting the process of contractor selection and contract placement Technical reviews of contractor documents and drawings Carrying out technical appraisals of project options Performing feasibility studies, site surveys and liaison with designers and station engineering staff as required Prepare Engineering Changes and manage the preparation of supporting and affected documents Commissioning documents and act as test team leader where appropriate Supporting the Project Manager and Construction Manager in managing the project and ensuring the work is carried out in a safe, timely and effective manner to its conclusion *

APMP formal project management qualification or equivalent and versed in modern project management techniques within complex, multi-functional organisations; have a thorough understanding and knowledge of engineering, design, procurement, safety case, construction and installation/commissioning management and commercial contracting. Able to demonstrate an understanding of Safety Cases including how they are developed and implemented, relevant Health and Safety and Environment legislation including CDM and the actions required to achieve compliance Good understanding of the needs of quality and how quality is assured and controlled along with relevant experience of commercial, contractual, and financial project drivers. Demonstrable experience of managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle, ideally across a range of complex multi-discipline projects and environments, and management of an integrated project team including staff, agency and assigned functional support. Experience of estimating, cost control, planning and commercial awareness including the preparation of business cases and sanction/ funding papers. Experienced in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, be proficient in the use of estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools and in the use of Earned Value tools. Analytical approach with high-level problem-solving ability. Experience of working at Power Stations and Nuclear Licensed Sites is preferred but not essential.
