About the Opportunity
Jacobs are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team supporting our key client EDF with their nuclear generation fleet in the UK.
This is a key role within our Project Management Resource team which are based at all UK sites and stations. You will be supported and mentored by experienced project management professionals within Jacobs and given the training and opportunities you need to develop and expand your project management, business development and leadership skills with larger and more complex projects. To support project delivery there is a well established team of engineering professionals with a range of skills and expertise in the field.
You will be part of a large client-led team at Dungeness B Power Station, with occasional business travel to other UK sites/stations. Flexible working arrangements between office and home may be possible, however the role will predominantly be based at the Power Station.
Since 1983 Dungeness B has generated low carbon electricity for 38.2 million homes and was the first Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor to begin construction in the UK. The station is now at a new phase in its life - defueling and decommissioning. This involves the safe removal of all spent fuel from the reactor core, the cooling ponds and stores whilst looking ahead and preparing for deconstruction. At a time of nuclear resurgence working for Jacobs at Dungeness B offers a unique opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within an operational defueling environment whilst also looking ahead to future potential opportunities in nuclear new build or decommissioning and deconstruction.
