EXP’s Infrastructure & Transportation Practice provides comprehensive planning, design and construction engineering services for all types of roadway, bridge, water resource, rail, transit and aviation projects. With a unique multidisciplinary team approach, we have a history of successfully delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects within the Chicagoland region.  We are currently looking to grow and enhance our project management capabilities and are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Project Manager for our Chicago office. The ideal candidate will work directly under the supervision of the Practice Manager and focus on delivering transportation projects for a wide variety of clients within Illinois.

 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Manage a wide variety and complexity of infrastructure related projects. Maintain project schedules and manage project financials including profit/loss responsibility and targeted direct margin. Coordinate staff required for internal project teams, including directing, coordinating and reviewing work by others. Perform design computations, oversee report, plan and specification development and sign and seal construction documents as necessary. Oversee and approve invoicing/billing and manage project scope and secure change orders as necessary, chase A/R and provide internal reporting as may be required. Work with other senior staff within Infrastructure & Transportation and other practices groups, as necessary, to execute project delivery. Act as EXP’s representative with the client and subcontractors during projects, negotiations, execution and close-out. Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for project pursuits. Develop and maintain client relationships.

 

What your experience looks like

BS in Civil Engineering from an Accredited University, advanced degrees are not required, but preferred. 12+ years of progressively responsible relevant experience including at least 5+ years of successful project management experience. Licensed PE in the State of Illinois. The ability to obtain licensure in other states is desirable. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead diverse project teams with a strong track record of project delivery from both a technical and financial perspective. Knowledge of work related to delivering transportation projects primarily for highway and bridge related clients such as IDOT, Tollway, CDOT and local agencies required, related experience to other agencies and clients in rail, transit and aviation is also desirable. Experience delivering both planning and design related projects. Knowledge in CADD delivery issues and workflows and proficient in MS Office software. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians. Strong leadership, project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Ability to mentor engineering staff. Business development and client relationships desirable Industry participation in professional societies desirable

 

The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $170,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location. Compensation may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor.
